Bhagavad Gita 2.14

What you feel right now is real — and it is also passing. Like weather, it will change.

Bhagavad Gita · Chapter 2, Verse 14

mātrā-sparśās tu kaunteya śītoṣṇa-sukha-duḥkha-dāḥ
āgamāpāyino 'nityās tāṁs titikṣasva bhārata

Translation

Contact with the world brings cold and heat, pleasure and pain. These come and go; they are not permanent. Learn to bear them patiently, Arjuna.

In simple words Interpretation

What you feel right now is real — and it is also passing. Like weather, it will change.

Context

Krishna begins to steady Arjuna by pointing to something simple: every sensation and every mood has a beginning and an end.

When this may help

When a feeling seems like it will last forever, or a hard season feels endless.

Reflection question

What is one feeling you've carried before that eventually passed?

A small practice

Sit for one minute and notice a physical sensation — warmth, coolness, tension. Watch how it shifts on its own.
